To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favorite books and probably in my top five of all time favorite movies and I also acted in a stage play version of it so the Scout
reference occured to me as well! ;-)

It wasn't the use of 'Scout' itself so much that bothered me. Just that if felt contrived to introduce something new we hadn't previously known about. We do have some Sculy back story so I just thought it would have been more effective to connect with something we might already know about. The whole ep seemed very forced to me and full of plot contrivances such as Mulder not checking his answering machine when he got home. He gets some strange calls from important people so why is he suddenly not listening to his messages!? Things like that just bug me.

Islandgirl's explained the dress thing pretty much but just because a little girl likes to wear pants to play in (oten referred to as 'play cltohes') doesn't mean she didn't wear dresses sometimes too. I just hated those awful tights we used to have to wear to school with them! Ugh!
