Subject: Scully on airplanes...
In reply to: c_shantal 's message, "I have to agree. The simpliest explanation is probably the right one." on 21:12:24 08/11/00 Fri

Remember in the Pilot when she reacted strongly to the airplane turbulance? She's not a good flyer!

I tend to agree with you all too and wasn't necessarily saying there is more of an alien connection. There could be. But I think that CC may like to present things in a particular way for two reasons: to throw us off track and make us speculate and also to keep a balance between the shippers and the noromos. I know from my position on my fence I see CC when he is climbing back and forth over it all the time! ;-)

So having Scully dizzy and fainting ONLY in the ep which takes place in a famous alien hotspot can allow the noromos and others who just like to speculate about alien involvement to think there is another more extaterrestrial explanation even though it may really be as you all say, the simplest one.
Has anyone ever read if CC is a big fan of the movie Contact? He likes to borrow a lot from other sources (CSM/Darth Vadar "I am your father" anyone?) so if we knew that about him that line from Contact might give us a clue!

But I'm not discounting CC throwing a few things in to make it more interesting and I won't say postively that the baby is a Mulder-Scully production created entirely in the old fashioned way until I find out for sure! But CC may keep this paternity carrot dangling for a long time and we may not be given the answer right away.
