as much as CC has allowed. Maybe CC has an infatuation with GA which made him try to cast her as the central figure. The irony of this is that without Mulder, there would be no XFiles--Scully would be a forensic medicine person with the FBI who would have little if any background in the paranormal.

I liked the way you summarized their relationship. Mulder has gone from being a loner nicknamed "Spooky" to a well known investigator (who has fallen in love with his partner.) Scully has managed to bring him to realize that there is more to life than aliens. I also think she has been responsible for showing him that it's ok to follow a narrow path and to take a few side trips once in a while. She is really the only living person (besides Samantha?!) that loves him and chooses to be with him. Wonderful story for old romantics like myself!
