Makes a lot of sense. I thought CC just didn't have the time to devote a lot of thought to long term plot development. You know--the "big picture" development for an entire season. Too many irons in the fire can lead to problems and I think that CC just had too many things going on at the same time. Add to the list, the "Millenium" series and to be quite honest, I don't know just how he could do justice to all three! Now with only XFiles and the Lone Gunmen, he can spend more time on these two as the characters are at least developed and familiar! Let's hope that he does this now!
