You are welcome to say anything you wish here as long as it is not cruel to another poster or in bad taste or overly vicious to DD. Yeah I know he's JUST a celebrity but he's also a human being. And I'm talking about things that border on sounding dangerous which I know about all too well from the few years I've been on the internet. But you are free to knock him all you like.

Maybe you were unaware but this is major DD fan territory in these parts! So while everyone will let you be entitled to your opinion, don't expect everyone to keep quiet about it! :-)

I think your sexism qualifier referred to another of your statements rather than the bread winner one. I was a bit miffed that the tone of your post seemed to reflect rather outdated attitudes but I could have misread the intent.

I missed DD on Howard Stern this time around and frankly I didn't care much because I find HS deplorable. You ant to hear some bashing, he would be at the top of my list! His MO is to excuse his cruel brand of "humor" by calling it satire and claiming it's all part of the act but to me it's not at all funny. That's one thing (of several) about DD I don't get. His appearant liking of Howard Stern! To paraphrase Scully a little bit, maybe it's a guy thing.

I don't think we can really know what celebs do for charity. One thing I've fdound is that some of them sem to thrive o the publicity of the charity they do and seem to want everyone to know just how charitable they are (Hey, look at what a good person I am!) while ohers celebs will quietly do good for others without making an issue out of it.

The stars can bellyache all they want because the reporters continually ask them about their salaries, gripes etc. if they didn't ask we wouldn't hear as much about it. It doesn't make news to say, "This star is perfectly content with his job and his pay." Only someone who is discontented with his current situation will make headlines and since everyone knew about DD and his lawsuit and his unhappinss with Fox the press jumps all over it. DD gets stuck in these situations because he gets sent on press tours to promote his latest project. It appears obvious to me that he prefers talking about the project (such as Return to Me) rather than his business troubles. But the press just keep asking him. He could say 'no comment' but he also liks to be honest and clear up any misunderstanding. But the bellyaching isn't something he seems to relish. We can't blame him for the media and the information they wish to glean from stars all the time.

I don't know about Tea's income as opposed to his. I know her last movie made a lot more box office dollars than The X-Files movie did and she recently completed a film with Nicholas cage who is a high profile star. But the thing is, they both are well off obviously and the money making doesn't have to fall on him just because he's the man. If he wants to share in the parenting duties as much as he can then I applaud that.

Well I just read some intersting news which, in my mindm changes he whole 'mad at DD for not doing a whole season' gripe fans have had. According to the latest Entertainment Weekly, CC thinks the show could continue without DD or GA. We did already know that he signed on for another season before DD did so he was prepared to go on without him and seemed to think this was a workable idea. So if DD hadn't returned at all we still would have had an 8th season which makes being upset about him only doing a patial season a moot point. We were going to have Season 8 anyway. At least now we get SOME Mulder which is better than no Mulder.
