Scully didn't drop the envelope containing what she thought were the autopsy results. That one she opened to...I don't know, verify the results? Hard to say why, but she did. What she dropped were the papers Colleen gave to her. In the papers was a crop circle called "Heart Chakra" or something like that.

I watched it again last night and you're exactly right about the VO. I hadn't really paid attention to it the first time around, but it put a new spin on the slo-mo. An excellent way to show how we're always making decisions that can have an impact on our lives.

Did you notice the magazine Scully is reading when she first goes to Daniel's room and is hiding from Maggie? It's called something like Feng Shui Life.
