Subject: 10 on gross-out factor, 6 on plot
In reply to: Scullystar 's message, "Brand X- What did we all think?" on 21:11:34 04/16/00 Sun

Here's why I give it a 6 on plot:

1. When Scully tells Mulder that they are looking for Weaver, Mulder says, "Oh yeah...e pluribus..." Since Weaver never said that to Mulder (he said it to his neighbor), how did Mulder know? Oops...or did it end up on the editing room floor?

2. Why did people start dying all of a sudden (or so it seemed)? Why didn't Weaver's neighbor choke on bugs sooner since he'd obviously been complaining about the smoke for awhile.

3. Why didn't Skinner and the other FBI agents wear masks when they burst into Weaver's apartment? Why didn't Skinner wear a mask when he went looking for Voss? Speaking of Voss, did you see that man's house? And he tells Weaver he had only, what, $4,000 in the bank?! Yeah, right.

4. When Weaver was brought to the hospital after Skinner shot him, why did Scully tell the PARAMEDICS to "do the blood work on this man"?

5. Mulder's witty retort to the Morley attorney about how he couldn't explain the tobacco beetle because of confidentiality blah blah blah. Felt very contrived.

6. I finally realized after watching it twice who Weaver reminded me of - Dennis Hopper.

Don't get me wrong - I thought it was a most entertaining MOTW episode. I am very glad that I don't smoke anymore! I was highly amused when Scully took Mulder's hand and he said, "It must be bad." LOL!

LOVED Scully's hair. Almost makes me want to grow out my hair...nah.
