Nope, not a blind Scully fan here. I deeply respect anyone and everyone's opinion about her so I do not intend to insult anyone. But I am not a Scullyist. The Scully-centered episodes bore me. At times I don't understand why her character is written differently when it is an episode only about her, not that it's been done that much, but it has been done, while Mulder is consistant. I started watching the XF for Mulder and the myth. Sure she has been written as part of the myth, but I don't watch it just for her.

I don't know what I am. Let's see. I like the UST, the flirting, the "cutesy" moments. I SEE the relationship, unlike the nomoros that can't see it. I KNOW Mulder loves Scully. I witnessed his behavior over the years beginning with his jealousy in Jersey Devil. I've seen his reaction in One Breath, Momento Mori and Redux and at the end of the movie when he tired to get her to leave him, to walk away, and believed his profession of love in Triangle was not caused by drugs or a bump on the head. I've seen how he looks at her at times. I've felt for the last couple of years he is just standing back waiting...

I don't think Scully loves him back in the same way. I read an interesting essay once about how he wasn't her "type" romantically, which of course fits in with the attraction to older or more risky men. Maybe she needs that kick of adrenlin that an affair causes, or a guy like Ed Jerse causes. Maybe it's his pursuit of his quest that involves her that she likes about him - that kick. She loves and cares for Mulder past the level of partnership for sure, but love like needed for marriage and like Mulder's I question. However, now she may since "all things", as well as other things that have happened to her this season - her new awakening, etc.

My problem with the MSR is that I don't WANT them to get together. I think it just wouldn't work. These two are way too in need of serious counseling to understand their personal problems to ever make a life-long commitment work, IMHO, and I don't want to see them hurt. I enjoy the idea that they could be just lovers, though, successfully. Which they may already be. All the signs seem to be there, but they are confusing signs. DO partners that have been through all they have and know so much about one another, and - and - touch and caress like they do and just stop it right there? After 7 years? Maybe they do. I know nothing about a partnership like that, and know little about affairs of the heart as well.

So that's it in a nutshell. I really must go back to work so have to cut this short. What catagory would you say I fit?
