Kenamom, you told me I would like it even more the second time around and you were right. Not that I ever doubted you.

The hospital seems to be near Chinatown, even though there really isn't a hospital near Chinatown in DC. Details, details. So it isn't surprising that Scully would take a walk after her encounter with Maggie and end up in Chinatown. She follows the woman into the temple, and then seems to be drawn in.

Scully brings the new age healer into the picture because of what Colleen told her. Colleen, as you may recall, went to a healer after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Scully realizes that Daniel has unresolved anger and shame surrounding his affair(?) with Scully. It doesn't seem out of character (to me anyway) for Scully to think bottling up those emotions was affecting his health.
