Subject: I didn't think I'd like it BUT

I did--not like some of the other episodes but nevertheless, I enjoyed this one. I can appreciate the videogame stuff--I just can't play those dumb things very well but then I don't take the time to practice. I also have watched how involved the male of the species gets when playing these things so Mulder's interest didn't surprise me one bit. I too thought the sword in the door was a bit lame, however I enjoyed the "Sword in the Stone" allusion when Mulder pulled it out of the concrete. I was just surprised to see the wild west scene come up next. (The tank driving down the wild west mainstreet was rather stupid, I thought.) What I did like was Scully's performance and role in the ENTIRE episode which is why I liked it so well. It just was well written and acted throughout! She really could play more of this kind of role. I am really impressed with the wide scope of characters GA can portray effectively when she has well-written scripts to work with. Her comments about the male "yaya" had me just doubled over laughing. As my sister-in-law says "it's a guy thing." As far as Miss JadeBlue whatever, too bad the whole police department had to be portrayed as a bunch of drooling idiots who only had hormonal brains to deal with. However, I suppose that's another "guy thing" too. I just liked Scully's response to this bimbo. (For the males who read this--I am not male bashing--just relating a few observations. I can't say that I relate but I think I do understand.)
As far as Scully saving Mulder's bacon (love that term), I thought it showed that he was vulnerable in situations where he has been beaten up by the "perfect woman." She had been clobbering him up pretty good until Scully showed up at the door to save her man. (loved her entrance!) The perfect gentleman that he is should have grabbed her leg and broken it first chance he had. I think the scene showed how vulnerable men are to a beautiful woman.
I too think that these games are a waste of time, but if it keeps the world at peace, I say let's send free Sega's and video games to all those other countries that are at war. At least maybe there would be fewer innocent victims (like children, women and vulnerable adults.)
As far as the reference to cake in their pants--I suspect that was a reference to what we usually throw away in a disposable diaper. I will "look no further" on this item.
The idea of being lost in cyber space reminded me of Kill-Switch a little bit where Scully had to save Mulder again. Also, there was a villain lurking out there in "space" as well.

By the Way--LOVE THE PICTURE!
