...that just because he knows that Samantha is dead, he feels all the Samantha issues are resolved. The fact of the matter is that she was abducted, by all appearances by alien lifeforms as well as by human lifeforms. I would imagine Mulder still wants justice for his sister by uncovering as much as he can of the plot behind her abduction. Her death only takes away the element of him wanting to find her, not of him wanting explanations.
