Subject: Genderbender: Fun with Scully's makeup! And some questions...

On Year's Day our FX channel aired the first 14 eps of season one. It was fun watching part of it. Mulder was so cute back then! Anyway, I digress.

Has this ever been bought up in Nitpicking talk? In Genderbender when Scully is in the room with Brother Andrew and he's telling her about Martin she suddenly has all this extra makeup on! Much heavier lipstick, eye makeup and blush. After Mulder rescues her and they go outside the extra makeup is gone. And when M&S are in the car and he says she almost did the wild thing the makeup is back again!

This was a pretty gpod episode and it's so fun to see Mulder's sense of wonder in these early cases again. They've both gotten pretty jaded in recent years. So, why was it that Martin was able to transform from male to female and back again so quickly and yet, with that older guy they had to perform that ceremony and put goop all over him to change him? And with him they seemed to have to do it to save his life whereas Martin was just doing it for fun. And why did his victims die? Was it because aliens and humans just can't mix and it causes a lethal reaction?
