Dev, are you saying that Scully is so infatuated with Mulder, that she is actively looking for some sort of surrogate version of him? That anyone displaying the merest whiff of 'Mulderness' is suitable? To knowingly put herself in danger like this, just to feel closer to him is surely the by-product of extremely low self-esteem & would be considered the actions of a desperately unbalanced person.
Personally, I don't think her actions are provoked by a lack of romantic 'Mulder' attention, but a need for romantic love in general.
