Mat – you are not alone in being confused. I suppose coming out of the euphoria of myth-arc eps, I am always more praising than criticising, because I love the whole alien conspiracy eps! But it is not long before the questions start spilling forth. I mean, I wondered how come suddenly the ‘bad guys’ are killing the ‘faceless aliens’ with the spike. Previously, this special spike was aimed at the clones – the experimental AHHs. I wasn’t sure what the link between these two were. The inference has been (since Cassandra’s last appearance in TXF) that the ‘faceless ones’ were a new breed, who were fighting against with the oily ones.
All of a sudden, CC has brought all these threads together. Til now, I was always struggling with the big plot, but tried to satisfy myself that the various aliens we encountered were sort of separate. This is another level now, with all the likely players popping up together. I also need to recap – badly! Have you got the songs from the FTF movie? Not the soundtrack – the album of songs. At 10.13 on this CD, CC does a very good job of explaining ‘the story so far’ which is hard to follow but you can break it down a little. As it is from the horse’s mouth, so to speak, you can take it at face value.
I know there are lots of people who maybe know more than we do, at this point, but one’s confusion does grow rather than wane. At least, as you say, we are left asking questions. An XF plot which had answers would not be an XF plot at all!
