laugh, Kande and CW now know what to do next. Pretending to be somewhat contrite, the two backed out of the room and ran down to Stardoe's lab. After knocking on the door with the secret code, they were admitted by Stardoe. "Did it work?" she asked.
Laughing until they cried, "Yes" the dynamic duo finally sputtered. "You should have seen it!"
"I think I will but I need to find the right tape" said an amused Stardoe. Turning to a small console on the desk, she started a quick search for the episode. Once she found it, she too began to ROTFL almost out of control. "This is too good" she announced. "Now for the next step."
"I hope that your surveillance doesn't include the bathrooms" said a somewhat concerned Kande.
"No video--just audio which can be somewhat entertaining too, if you get what I mean" said a smirking Stardoe.
"When do you think our 'dark side' mayor will come to her senses?" asked CW. "Do you think she will realize that all she needs to do is find the antidote that will change her appearance and erase all this nonsense from her memory?"
"It may be time to start dropping hints but not until the real Bubba checks in with me. He brings me hourly reports" said Stardoe. "I've been keeping track of the other known clones and he is looking for the rest,"
"How are you doing that? " asked the amazed duo.
"Quite simple, my dears. Quite simple" said Stardoe with her most scientifically based, knowing look. "He just puts a small sticker on the back of their necks whch is really a mini computer chip that will track them."
"What?" exclaimed the dynamic duo "How on earth does he know who they are?"
Stardoe stopped for a moment before answering slowly "Bubba uses one of his little known alien skills. It allows him to read their minds and if they don't have one, he will know it immediately."
"He reads minds!" they gasped "so that's why he was following us. "Don't worry--he can't read real human minds. He can only tell if they are a real human. Somehting to do with reading binary code in the clone brains." said Stardoe, smiling to herself.
