Not knowing that the Mayor has been transformed into a Bubba-lookalike and terrorizing the masses, KS continues with her resistance training camps. She pulls the pin out of a grenade and holds it high over her head. Her trainees gasp and cringe in fear.
"This is how you pull out the pin in a grenade," she says loudly as the recruits crawl over each other in an attempt to get away, "you have 15 seconds to throw it and leave the area."
Rabid looks at her stopwatch. "10-9-8-7..." she counts down from a safe spot behind a large boulder, several yards from where KS is standing.
Calmly, KS tosses the grenade away from her and when the blast comes she is thrown in the air with one arm out like a super-hero, then flips and rolls smoothly to a standing position. "And that's how you land if you're too close," she demonstrates to the awed recruits.
Rabid sidles up to KS. "You looked amazingly like a vampire when you were flying through the air," she says slyly, watching closely to see KS's reaction.
Eyes hooded, KS glances at her suspiciously. "Did I hear you want to volunteer to toss the next grenade?" KS asks Rabid.
"Ooh, you have a scratch on your bicep," Rabid pretends to lick her lips and then launches herself onto KS's bulging bicep and starts gnawing around the small bead of blood glistening there.
KS scratches her head. She can never figure out what makes the librarian tick. Or perhaps, she is a tick? KS casually flexes her arm and a tooth pings out of Rabid's mouth. While Rabid retreats holding her mouth, KS bends over and picks up the tooth, which is incredibly pointy. KS straightens, eyes wide.
