Subject: Debbie, all parents wish their children to grow..maybe your father thinks that you are too old and that playing with dolls is a backward step for your development. Also, he may be saying this in order to react to your persistence...Try to take things easier..If you want a doll very much, then try to explain to them that his will make you happy and that a doll is an investement anyway..It is also the second most collectible item after stamps!!

  • *sigh* I know how you feel,it's the same way with me. My parents think that 12 years old is too old to play with a doll. My dad said that he would let me get one if I would actually play with it,but he said it would just sit on my bed collecting dust. It would not! Since I don't think my parents are going to give in any time soon,I found my doll Nikki that I had for about four years. She's an American Girl baby. I used to carry her around with me everywhere...and now that I have her back I think it's starting up again! I just wish I could convince my parents to let me have a LM. LoL,in other words: I feel your pain. Good luck in trying. (NT) -- Stephanie, 22:35:18 07/12/01 Thu
