Why she turned against Mulder? The housewife was suspicious of her husband being unfaithful on the road, the man had a deep fear of the war criminal who tortured his parents. Does this mean that deep down Scully has doubts about her trust for Mulder? The idea that the information fed to these people through the television signals works on already established concerns, making the victims see them as reality. That one has always bothered me. I thought Scully trusted Mulder wholeheartedly but this seems to suggest she has some doubts.

Wonderful job of the searching the motel room scene, I agree kande. I think it was a mix of all those things, fear, panic, hysteria but in true Scully form she was able to act in a (almost) rational way. She was convinced someone was spying on her, that she was being listened in on, so she needed proof. God I miss those days when we had consistancy in a charactor!
