I read these comments before I watched the episode, so I kept your question in mind when viewing. Scully doesn't turn against Mulder because deep down she doesn't trust him completely. She turns against him because her worst fear in the world is that Mulder would betray her. She does trust him, which is why she acted SO scared when she thought she saw something that she didn't. The housewife's deepest fear was that her husband would cheat on her. The other guy's deepest fear was that he'd be tortured by the modern day Hitler. Scully's deepest fear is that Mulder would betray her. It's not rational for Scully to believe that, but it's also not rational for that guy to think he'd be tortured by a dictator in Europe.

I love this episode so much. I also love the scene of Scully searching her room. I like when she's sitting in the dark on the phone with Mulder just before she searches her room too. Her body language says so much about what she's feeling.

It was so good to see TLG doing what they do best! And also to see Mrs. Scully not behaving like an idiot! And Smoking Man! And X! All around great episode. They just don't make them like this anymore :(
