Subject: Milagro

I got a little ahead of myself. I had the time, so I watched Milagro last night. "...errant strand of titian hair..." Best line EVER!

I wonder how GA felt about this one. In a way, she is objectified by the writers. But it also adds a dimension to Scully that we always suspected was there but never really saw - she's a damn good-looking woman who can (should?) be viewed as an object of desire.

When Padgett says that Scully is concerned about failing in front of her male colleagues, that has always surprised me. I've never thought of Scully as being the least bit concerned about it. But when he says that as we're watching Scully on the phone (pushing that errant strand of titian hair behind her ear), I can see it.

I love how Scully keeps insisting that she isn't lonely. We know she is. At least in the sense that she wants a life outside of the x-files but hasn't figured out a way to make that happen. Even with Mulder, there's a sense that she's alone. He is often so wrapped up in his own thoughts that he doesn't see Scully or even think about her.
