Scully entering Doggett's bedroom had no sense of intimacy, which is part of what made it so weird. I'd say there isn't any "intimacy" between Doggett and Scully, they are two professionals doing thier jobs. They are warming up to each other, and yes, I think they are becoming friends. As far as Scully not achieving intimacy very easily, maybe knowing Mulder has taught her a thing or two about that. At any rate, if and when there is "intimacy" between Scully and Doggett, I don't think it will be false or unbelievable. Doggett has the personality of someone who is caring and protective, and that personality manifests itself in how he deals with Scully. I think we'd all agree that Scully could use someone to care about her these days, wouldn't we? But of course, not if it's Dogsbreath! Scully would be better off being taken care of by the Smoking Man or Krycek than Dogsbreath!!
