Subject: Scully unspeakably cruel???
In reply to: hairytoes 's message, "Okay, so if Mrs. Mulder not saying anything to Mulder about Samantha is unspeakably cruel..." on 10:17:43 02/17/00 Thu

Not my hero! But you make an excellent point. The sin of omission committed by Scully is just as bad as that committed by Teena "Cruella Deville" Mulder. Remember how pissed off Scully was when she found out that the investigation into her sister's murder had been put on hold? Where is that same passion in this case? If CSM is responsible for Samantha's disappearance, why aren't M&S hunting him down like the dog that he is? So many questions and no answers.

I think the writers could do a better job of making Scully's character more interesting in the Mulder-centric episodes. Mulder is always doing interesting things in the Scully episodes, like visiting Graceland or throwing pencils at the ceiling. At least he's doing *something*!

I agree - let CC take the MSR (or msr) wherever he wants. In spite of the Samantha debacle, I trust his instincts. Even though I don't want to see a romantic involvement, I also can't see either with anyone else. Maybe it's that I don't want to SEE any romance. I love the way their (small r) relationship has evolved over the years. I think it's been handled brilliantly. But it's always been in the context of the job and the different beliefs they bring to a case. We never really see them off the job, discussing everyday things like movies or where's the nearest hardware store.

And it's also my rebellion against the idea that a television show with male and female lead characters MUST end in romance. Because X-Files hasn't fallen into that is one of the reasons I love this show.

Besides, how would romance or sexual involvement feed into my paranoia and my assorted conspiracy theories?

krh, who is running out of people willing to discuss XF with her
