Subject: What does Scully believe . .

Since I got lost reading all the discussion, I decided to start another one--same topic--just easier for me to do. I think everybody seems to pretty much agree that she wants to end Mulder's pain by not looking any deeper. I think that her scientific mind still hasn't sorted things out yet which is why we don't have a clear idea of her thoughts. She may still be trying to deal with her abduction--WHERE she was taken and WHO actually took her (she knows that there have been many lies and still may not believe what she was told.) I think she is trying to sift through all this and make a connection to Samantha's abduction--was it like Cassandra's (which Scully witnessed) or was it human (supposedly like hers?) If the humans took her, she may not remember seeing CSM, who is always in the operating rooms (without proper sterile dress--can't figure out why he has that privilege!) I'm sure he was around though during her tests because of his personal interest in Scully as a test subject. CSM had said that he was responsible for returning Scully.

I think she was trying to see if the video tapes of his regresion therapy were valid--I wish whe would have found someone outside the bureau as there probably still are crooks in the system who would lie to her to cover their butts and keep the conspiricy going.

Scully has seen CSM as he was always lurking in various offices and hallways in the bureau during the first season--whenever she was called in by her supervisors--but I don't remember him actually talking to her in private. She knows who he is because she is the one who dug up the box of information and files when she and Mulder had been put on administrative leave (the scene where he is shooting baskets in the gym is where she shows him the box, pictures, files, etc.) I think she does not trust him and probably hates him because of his involvement with her abduction.

Until I can figure out who the other adults (Walk-ins) are besides the young CSM, I won't be able to try to sort out where Samantha may really be. The idea of starlight and the notion that anybody looking down at earth from a zillion miles away, seeing "old earth dinosaurs" is interesting. I can't remember the mathematical stuff but supposedly the large amount of time for images to travel from earth to some far distant galaxy is responsible for this. This theory also says something like the light we see from any distant star isn't from our current moment in time--it is from a long time ago. So if Samantha is gone to some distant planet the starlight coming down (as a ghost) would show her old image but--maybe she is alive as an adult in some far distant galaxy which is why the aliens could send the adult clone.

All I know is that CC better tie up ALL the loose ends--either during season 7 or in another XF movie. Of course leaving things unanswered gives everybody a lot of things to discuss which is fun for me because I haven't found too many people who like to discuss XFiles. A lot of people watch though!
