Within the last year or so, I guess I've "officially" become part of the demographic CBS is *supposed* to appeal to but I've watched a lot of shows on it for years, even when I was younger than the typical CBS viewer. I've hardly watched anything on NBC or ABC during the past decade, although, up until about 15 months ago, I was exactly the demographic their shows were supposed to appeal to (i.e. in my 30s, well-educated, married w/kids, etc.). I also watch a lot of sci-fi shows on FOX (like XF and "Dark Angel") and UPN ("Jake 2.0.") even though, statistically, those shows are supposed to mainly appeal to males in their teens and 20s. So I guess I'm kind of a programmer's nightmare.
What I don't understand is *why* advertisers so badly want to appeal to those in their 30s as opposed to those in their 50s or 60s. I'm pretty sure my husband and I will have more "disposable" income 10 years from now, when we'll be in our 50s, then we did 10 years ago.
