Subject: Angel comes to an end (looking for Rabid if she's still out there)

WB will cancel Angel at the end of this season. The show just barely got renewed last year and that was after fans petitioned & changes were made to the show (no ongoing storylines, Spike joins the cast from Buffy). I suppose Joss Whedon could get the show moved to another network but with the ratings not improving this looks doubtful. I'm glad they made it to 100+ eps. I think they have gone as far as they can go, this season has been weaker than previous ones.

Losing Cordelia was a mistake, she brought a lot of energy and humor to the cast. Her return for ep #100 was the best of the season so far. I was sad to see her killed off but it was handled well. The other supporting players have become bland. The love triangle between Fred/Wes/Gunn is forgotten. All 3 are suddenly professionals with no time for personal lives. Gunn seems to have come under Wolfram & Hart's influence but nothing has come of this yet.

Spike is just there to be a pain in Angel's ass, love the character but he needs to do something. Lindsay's return did add something to Spike but all over with after just a coupld of eps. Lorne is just comic relief.

So ends the Buffyverse, maybe there will be a movie down the line? All hope Buffy herself will appear in the finale. I hope there is closure, defeat W & H finally. But Joss said he had a finale to the season that ended this year's story & set up another season's like he did at the end of last year. If he leaves it at that, we'll be left up in the air. Darn.

Well, a great 8 year run that never got more popular than cult status. Not bad. Rabid, I watched Firefly again on DVD and its much better on second viewing & in proper order. Hope the Firefly movie comes thru.
