Subject: Summer reruns are being good to "Navy NCIS"
In reply to: Islandgirl 's message, "Re: "24" and "Navy NCIS" did great in the ratings!" on 18:41:06 06/04/04 Fri

"Navy NCIS" has been among the 15 highest rated shows for the past two weeks. During the last week of May it had its season finale at a time when most other shows were already in reruns, so that was sorta/kinda understandable. But it was in the top 15 again for the first week of June, when it was a rerun ep.
I think NCIS, like our beloved XF, is actually going to have more viewers watching its first season eps in reruns than it did when they were originally broadcast. It seems to be one of those shows that is gaining viewers slowly. Probably a lot of people assumed, as det did, that it was just a JAG-clone, but are now realizing differently.
This is one reason why I think the concept of "year round" programming by the networks is a dumb one. A lot of good shows gain viewers during the summer.
