Subject: Freaks and Geeks DVD

So my dad bought me the DVD set of Freaks and Geeks. I'm not entirely sure how he decided on it. I think maybe he got it confused with My So-Called Life.

Anyway, I debated taking it back to Best Buy and exchanging it for My So-Called Life (which I've wanted to get since it came out) but decided to watch it instead.

OH my goodness. I watched the entire series in less than a week! What a wonderful show!

Det, I know you were a big fan of it, but I don't even remember it being on television. I was looking at the dates and it looks like it came out my junior year of college. Looking back, I have to say my junior year I pretty much only watched the X-Files. I didn't even really watch Friends or ER that year. I guess I was part of the problem, though, because having watched it I cannot believe it was cancelled (much like My So-Called Life).

I watched them all so fast that the episodes sort of ran together a little bit. I think that after awhile I'll watch them all again. Some of my favorite scenes were the geeks getting to pick the teams in gym and the subsequent heroic catch by Bill, Nick "singing" Lady to Lindsay in his basement, Sam wearing the Parisien Nightsuit to school (and dancing in front of his mirror prior to), and Daniel playing Dungeons and Dragons with the geeks.

One thing that bugged me. Maybe you can answer it for me, det. Why wasn't Busy Phillips featured in the credits? She was as involved as any of the freaks. I know her part in the first episode wasn't huge, so did they just decide to keep her at the last minute? I figured that's what it was, but it always bugged me.

The actress who plays Lindsay is currently on ER as a nurse that I hate. When I first saw her as the main character I was like 'oh no' because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get over my hate, but I loved Lindsay right away so it was fine.
