It's interesting to look back and see the older sci-fi series were often campy or made for kids with lots of over acting and goofiness. The newer series try to combine the sci-fi idea into a drama/comedy setting. This has a bigger potential audience but sci-fi fans grow restless when there's 90% drama & 10% sci-fi. Serling & Roddenberry were 2 men who used sci-fi for social commentary, Carter wanted to give us a creepshow & play on our conspiracy fears.

Can't say I'm watching Stargate or Tru Calling, not that impressed with what I saw. Not at all interested in Smallville, I hear they have a Flash series in the works also out of costume. Apparently superheroes are embarrassing but yet they do big box office. Why not do a costumed superhero show, that's how the comics are designed-as a continuing soap opera.

I occassional check out Enterprise, last year had some improvement. I don't care so much about continuity, good stories are more important. One can be painted into a corner if you have to follow all that's gone before to the letter.

Sci-Fi Channel is a waste of time, bad re-runs or cheesy UFO docs or lame "original" programs. I can live without it.
