One error they have repeated from the 80s version is the stated reason the visitors have come to Earth. They need water. We have found water on the moon & Mars so water is very common & abundant even on uninhabited planets so this explanation (I know it's not what they REALLY want) seems silly & the people of Earth should see right thru it.

Since this is a series, one wonders how long they will drag out the big reveals like what the aliens want, how they are going to do it, the possibility of alien-human love, etc.

I like Dollhouse but think they really need to kick the story into high gear. Basically, you're not sure who to root for as everyone is somewhat morally compromised, even some of the dolls. Echo, the main character, keeps changing personalities so it's hard to relate to her. And the mission seems to be escape from/destroy the Dollhouse which would end the show so they can't do that. Whedon isn't able to do the long term story arcs he's famous for on his other shows. He can give us sub-plots but that's about it. I just watched S1 on DVD & it gets better on the second view.
