I was wondering if they were going to use that premise again.

The writers must not be from California. We are in the midst of a major drought and this past spring and summer an ordinance was imposed where we were only allowed to water lawns two days a week. Lots of brown lawns around LA! The idiots in chrge decided to pick the same 2 days--Monday and Thursday. The buildup of water pressure is probably what has been causing all the water main breaks all over the city. We had one near where I live. It was a mess.

Anyway, there's no way we're going to give a bunch of aliens any of our water! We have none to spare! If there was a way we could get some transported from other states we'd do it.

I watched the first episode. Man, it moved along quickly. While the first "V" really build up the suspense about who they were and why they were here, this version seems to be going under the assumption that viewers are already familiar with the story. I guess that's okay and better than a stright redo. They seem to be focusing on using it as an allegory to the world's own problems, past and present (terrorists and their sleeper cells). The teenage boy who joined the alien good will program seems akin to a Hitler Youth kind of deal.

It was fairly interesting. One thing I specifically remember about the 'V" symbol itself is that it didn't stand for "vistors". There was a scene in the original where someone wrote the V on a wall or something like the spray paint scene in this one. But it stood for "victory"--the reisistance battle motto against their evil enemy
