Subject: Those old shows are great aren't they?

That's all I do these days if I'm watching anything. Right now it's Little House on the Prairie. It is funny how the women's roles have changed but I'm not sure if it is always for the better as IG is pointing out. My question about these new shows that i"ve never seen and probably won't, is why does the man have to be the brainy one? Scully was brainy but Mulder wasn't completely stupid either. I too prefer the equality between male and female but that their strengths are different to eachother.

I find it funny that the women in these shows who are really good at martial arts etc can do so much damage to a man. Doing Martial arts myself, I am fully aware of just how strong men are. Even a small skinny man is stronger than a large thick boned woman. Although if she hit first then she'd do damage. My 13 yr old son who is just a bit taller than me now is much stronger than me and I'm no weakling, let me tell you. A woman kicking her hardest in the correct way can do damage but if you don't take them totally by surprise they are more than capable of resisting your holds or deflecting your punches and kicks. I always laugh when a man punches a woman in the face which has happened on some shows and she just gets a buise. Man, it would totally smash her jaw/nose/teeth etc. Same with grappling. My family were mucking around one day, grappling and my hubby layed on top of me and I couldn't breath, let alone move. Luckily rapists and the like tend to be above and not on you so you can do something without that full weight. There are tricks you can use but the best policy is "not be there" as Mr Miagi said in karate kid, LOL.

So I digress from the discussion. I'm just saying that we must remember that TV isn't real. Oh God did I just say that?????? Quick, bring back XF. I"m looking forwad to maybe seeing some of these new shows and these new kick arse women.
