I was watching the original Mod Squad on DVD recently. I always heard about this show but never caught it. I saw the pilot and early episodes from 1968. Obviously very dated with the hippie scene and all the outdated clothes and lingo (although Peggy Lipton's hairstyle is back in style now).

But what struck me as funny was that whenever something violent was going to happen, the 2 men sent Julie away and she never got into fisticuffs. If she was in the middle of it, she was completely useless and had to be saved by the boys. Think about how far we've come now to where shows with a female protagonist is out kicking butt on her own.
