I thought the american Kath and Kim show was crap and they pulled it off air after two eps. But the thing is the first ep was a remake of the Aussie version and it really didn't sit right with American humour. But the second ep was an American fresh writing effort and I thought it wasn't too bad and had potential.I was disappointed that it was yanked off [pardon the pun] because it actually suited the american humour. The actors were more comfortable and I wanted to know if americans did like the ep that was witten by american comedy writers for an american audience using american cultural settings. You know, calling eachother dude, etc. As I am not au fait with american culture, [past the TV]I wanted to know what americans thought of it.

Yes it is irreverant. Australians are irreverant people. Insulting people is a way of showing affection, which I can see by the responses to my previous posts, is not something that is embraced by americans. Hence my desire to find out what people thought of Kath and Kim because I have no way of knowing if it is any good or not.

No I don't care if the show tanks but my inner anthropological nature cares, purely from the perspective of understanding american culture PAST, the television. If anyone cares to hep me do that, be my guest.

And the other thing, considering that none of our real shows ever make it to your screens, and some of them are quite passable, it might be nice to have a reversal of the one way cultural exchange and you get to know us a bit better. It would have been nice to think that the Aussie version of the show could be shown in America without having to be totally revamped to suit you. Not only will you not accept Aussie shows but you won't even accept American shows based on ours.Of all the millions of shows you get to filter through your TV watching choices, none are from here. I might only know of American culture through TV but that's 44 yrs of total indoctrination every day of the year so I think I know more about you lot than you know about me [us]

Sorry, but I just think I'm suffering from a bit of minority anxt. I've enjoyed coming here for so long and there are so many posts that I can't be a part of because they have something to do with shows I've never seen and never will see or baseball or gridiron or elections or whatever and that usually doesn't bother me but just once when I ask for some imput my way noone is interested. Even the few movies I've asked you to have a look at never graced your eye sight. You have proven my generalisations. And yes that is an "s", not a "z". And just when I decide to razz you all up a bit you can't take it. You get all offended instead of thinking "Poor old Stardoe is having a bad hair day, let's cheer her up a bit." After all there's heaps of you and only one of me so I should be able to give a bit of stick and get away with it without everyone getting all high and mighty and making me think I'm right about you.

Anyway I'm over it now. At least I know you are all awake.
