That some actors and others are refusing to come to work in support of their writers. Specifically I heard that Steve Carrell and Rainn Wilson of The Office refused to work while the writers are on strike, and since several of the show's regular cast members are also writers, they were only able to shoot two scenes yesterday. If that trend continues, I think the strike will be over sooner rather than later. Of course, not all actors can pull that off. Steve Carrell can because of who he is.

I've also heard that 24 and LOST both have about half of their shows filmed or with complete scripts, but if they don't get started on the rest soon, they may both scrap this season totally. That would suck.

I read somewhere today that writers only get 4 cents on DVD sales and nothing for downloads from the internet. Given that the shows couldn't exist without writers and the fact that DVD sales of TV shows are through the roof, this does seem a bit unfair. Let's hope they can come to some sort of agreement. I haven't been able to find what the writers want to receive for these sales.
