Subject: Lost-we've got a Locke problem (SPOILERS)

Last night's ep (3/21) was very good on thew one hand & continues the infuriating trend. My points:

Once again, Locke doesn't just want himself staying but everyone. I don't think any of the airliner passagers will be too happy to hear he destroyed their one means of escape. I guess Locke thinks they all have a destiny there but his fellow Losties would be fools to trust him again.

Was Ben always going to reneg on the deal with Jack? He seemed to suggest to Michael that he'd never find the island again so what difference would it make if Jack got off? They'd think he was crazy.

What mystery box? Is that how people can be healed & maybe Jack's father was brought back to life & Charlie finds his guitar & Kate sees her horse & finds her airplane toy, etc. So the Others are guarding it? Using it?

Why didn't Danielle try to contact her daughter when she had the chance?

Finally got to see how Locke got paralyzed. And now he has a chance at revenge. Will he use it? I have a theory that he isn't Locke's father, that's just another con. I knew it was him as soon as Ben asked for "the man from Talahassee".

One obvious overlooked thing about the wholeconflict with the Others is why no Lostie ever just says "let us off the island"? The others seem to not like them being there so instead of fighting why not negotiate with them & say "I don't care what your up to, let us leave & we're out of your hair." I assume the Others want them for their plans but someone could at least ask for such a thing.
