At least it would be for me. Steamed crabs and steamed shrimp are probably two of my favorite foods in the world. Yum yum!

Usually when I go to Baja Fresh I get the chicken taco combo with black beans and rice. But the bean and cheese burrito is awesome too. Or sometimes I get the Burrito Dos Manos because it's enough for two meals so I always have lunch the next day.

Baja Fresh has been around here maybe five years, but it's still relatively new. I first discovered it when I was working in DC in 2002, but they didn't have any up near me. They're spreading pretty rapidly, though, throughout the east coast.

Do you guys have California Tortilla out there? I do not like it. I thought I would since how can you screw up a burrito, but I guess maybe California/Mexican is different than regular mexican or even tex mex? There is a California Tortilla very close to my house that we go to sometimes. I always just get a quesadilla because it's the only thing there that seems good. Every time we're there I wish they'd turn that place into a Baja Fresh!

Another chain restaurant I enjoy is Cosi. I think those might be a east coast/north east restaurant though. They make great sandwiches that are fresh and great. Places like Cosi and Baja Fresh are such a nice change from your typical fast food.

I suppose it's a good thing that you know what you're getting at a chain restaurant. But when I go out of town I like to get the local flavor of a city, and it's hard to do that at Chili's or whatever. Recently I was in Hawaii for work and while I was there I asked one of the guys I was working with (who has lived there for years and years) what a really good Hawaiian type place to eat is, and he suggested this asian fusion place called Roys. I told him there is a Roys in Baltimore and it is pretty good, but I'd like something I can't get at home. Then on our last day there our co-workers out there wanted to take us to the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, but we talked them out of it. I mean. Hawaii!! The day I go to a restaurant chain named after a Tom Hanks movie while in Hawaii is a sad day indeed.
