YOu are so lucky being able to meet all those people. I have only met the two, Katy Manning and Turlough who both live here anyway. I would love to meet Tom Baker. I watch him on Monarch of the Glen. He's so funny. My kids also like Very LIttle Britain [probably shouldn't be watching it] which TB narrates.

That Peri did sound like her accent was fake. Maybe that's part of what turned me off her. I have to say that I really only ever watched on Silvester MacCoy show. He was a bit dark wasn't he? I don't really remember the Patrick Troughton ones. I was too young. I only remember watching it and seeing him but I could not tell you any of the stories. I had not seen any William HArtnell ones until last year when I watched then. They used to show mainly Pertwee and Tom Baker when I was a kid. Lots of reruns. Then Davidson and Colin Baker about one each and then it went off. They gotput McCoy ones on at some stage but I had given up. Just didn't like the show any more. I hated that movie although at the time I relaly tried to have an open mind about it. It just wasn't Doctor Who. I actually liked Turlough. I liked that he was bad. Wasn't he working for the Black Guardian or someone? I liked the ep that had the Brigadier in it where he saw himself and had a bit of a turn. I have only seen those eps once. I never bothered to tape them and there weren't any reruns that I recall. As for Pertwee and Baker, I can't say how many times I have seen those shows.

Have I named my collection yet? I have all the Sarah novels plus some of Romana and one of Leela plus programme guide, quiz book, monster book, one annual, cookbook. I have two posters as well. I have a small TARDIS and dalek that I bought in England yrs ago. I have a talking TB doctor and K-9 doll set that I got last yr in Sydney. I was in Sydney in July and the week after I got back I discovered that just one block away from my apartment is a great shop with stacks of TV stuff in it. I was cranky that I didn't know it was there. I must go back with a wad of cash and spend up big. I have emailed them and I can order over the net. I want that remote control K-9. And a Dalek. My Christmas list is growing. I would like to buy a CD story and see what they are like. Never ever knew about them until recently.

I did not know that they censored PTs eps here. I do recall The Brain of Morbius was never shown until 1981 or 1980 when they decided to show it for the first time but in a 9:00 or 9:30 time slot. There was a huge write up in the tv mags and papers how they had finally decided to show it. Considering it was made in 1975ish, that's pretty amazing. Now we have gone the other way and they show just about anything in the early timeslots. We have a stupid Teen show on at 7pm with self harm, bulemia, date rape....all sorts of iffy issues that little kids are watching and will get the wrong idea from.

I agree with you that the Doctor is supposed to be mysterious and unknowable. I think that's what bugs me about this new series. He's too human. Lis Sladen says in her interviews that the Doctor is an alien and does not and should not react the way we do. SHe liked that quality in TB and thinks David Tennant has that same quality but I don't think all that lovey dovey stuff is allowing him to be alien enough. I like Rose and I made sure my mind was wide open when this new two series started and I like the show but it is time to bring on the new chick. I liked Mickey too. I also like Captain Jack and am pleased to say that there is a new show called Touchwood that apparently he isin which sounds like the British version of the X Files. I'm looking forward to seeing that show. I hope it takes off.
