Kind of a good news/bad news thing here:
The show is being cancelled, but NBC execs have promised viewers will get 13 episodes and a coherent finale. If this is really what we get -- instead of just having the show yanked off the air after five or six eps, with all the plot thread left dangling -- I'll be reasonably satisfied.
For anybody other than me who is actually watching the show. . . I thought last night's ep was good. Generally speaking, I like the guys in this show -- the Dad, the son, the freelance "finder" and the FBI agents -- but not the females. The mother is growing on me a bit, but the oldest daughter just comes across as a selfish, star-spangled B***H. The little girl is sweet, but she hardly plays a major role. Knapp's British assistant is okay, but her role has been pretty limited so far.
Here's my theory as to who's behind it all: there have been hints throughout the show that Ellie shocked her parents and the rest of their high society circle when she married Conrad, who was from the wrong side of the tracks (even though he has obviously done very well for himself). Maybe she broke off an engagement with another man in order to marry Conrad and that man is seeking his long-delayed revenge. So it's not really about *Conrad's* past. . .it's about Ellie's.
