I liked (didn't love) the original series. The 2 TV movies that did prior to the series were better. I know it was the primary influence on CC along with The Invaders, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Project UFO, etc.

This new Night Stalker show has almost nothing to do with the original & everything to do with The X-Files!!! Carl had no girlfriend or Scully-like character to play off.
He certainly wasn't mr. intense but handsome guy, more a comedic part to offset the horror elements. The only other on going character was Carl's long suffering editor (one wonders how Carl made a living when none of his stories were published!). The plots used the classics: vampires, werewolves, zombies, ghosts & even aliens.

This new show should have used a different name, why take an old name & completely re-work it into a rip off of another show! Just like all those remakes Hollywood does that reuse an old film's name & some plot ideas but basically are entirely different films, they just hope name recognition will bring in the audience. Not me.
