I think they had to work quite hard to answer 5 years of questions. Did you see Jennifer Garner when she was on the Tonight Show? She basically said that they would answer all the questions and "tie them up" which I think they did.

Here are my thoughts:
"That whole end fight between Syd & Irina felt tacked on to get rid of her."
If I remember right, the Chosen One would have do battle with somebody else who was the "dark one." Many of us thought it would be Syd's sister, but now I think it was her mother. Irina was a bad apple, hungry for power and a firm believer in Rambaldi. Syd had to fight her to fulfill the prophecy--thus the battle between the two. As for the globe artifact, I suspect she would have used it when the time was right. We have to remember she was a KGB agent, gone bad and killing people didn't bother her one bit. She wouldn't have had any trouble getting rid of the intelligence agencies in both Washington and London. I think that plan was just her way of getting revenge against the "enemy." Her statement about how it was all about power pretty well summed it up for me. The globe with it's "immortality juice" would have allowed her to rule the world instead of Sloane. They both wanted the same thing (power and immortality) and ironically, what they ended up with wasn't really what they wanted.

As for Tom and Rachel, I don't think that would have ever materialized for him. He blamed himself too much for his wife's murder. I'm sure he liked Rachel but I don't think he loved her. It would have been nice in an ideal world, but we know he wasn't the most stable person. I think it all goes back to his wife getting killed instead of him.

I liked Marshall too--his wife came through and that was fun to see. It reminded me that people can have a hidden inner strength and that good can prevail. Sorry if that sounds corny but in this case it happened to be true.

The blocks were probably there because they were Jack's and Syd kept them as a reminder of her dad--maybe she wanted to make sure that her kids didn't have her skills too. I wonder why Isobell knocked the tower over after she built it. I doubt we will have another Alias show with Isobell but we never know what the networks will come up with for programming.

I was so pleased to see the "12" get their due. Of course we won't know if they worked with or for Irina. Somehow nothing in that part of the storyline would surprise me.

I know a lot of folks were disappointed with the show but I liked it because it was so unique and obviously fiction. It sure beats any and all of the reality shows, sitcoms and even Idol. I liked Star Search because it was more than just people singing. I didn't waste my time with Idol as I think society puts too much emphasis on "being on top" in sports and entertainment. I can understand the drive these folks have to succeed but frankly there is only so much room at the top. I also don't like the way they were criticized--cruelty never amuses me.
