If one year of real time only equals one month of "island time" -- two years since the series began and they've only been on the island for 65 days -- they are eventually going to have problems with the characters' aging process. I know there's been some speculation that's why they wrote Walt off the series; it's difficult to have an adolescent actor who's now two years older than when the series began look like he's only aged two months in that time.
But the actress who plays Claire is pretty young, too, and if the series goes on for several more seasons, it's going to be difficult to explain why she's gone from looking like she's 19 to looking like she's 27 in what is supposed to be less than a year.
However, I guess they could just say the island causes people to have an accelerated aging process!
