When I first read publicity about this storyline it was pretty much stated that he was the devil. And even the use of the Rolling Stones song "Sympathy for the Devil" twice in the Adam rescue epsiode leads me to think that. But God told Joan that Rayn was human so maybe he's just a troublemaker, I was thinking about Lucifer the fallen angel as well and wondering if Ryan started out like Joan and then decided he could be bigger than God.
Interesting deelopment with Ryan being connected to the school, the paper and the police which also happen to all involve Joan's family members directly. Plus the church was where her mom goes and the synagogue was where Joan's best friend's father preaches. Ryan is clearly targeting Joan! He's probably afraid of her.
Oh I hope it comes back next season!
It would be interesting to have Joan's "army" (friends) be clued in. I think things could start to go that way. Remember last year Adam was already part way there when Joan went through the lyme disease crisis.
I might like to get the S1 DVDs as well. In the ad for it after the show one bit had some of the various Gods calling them the God gallery. Has anyone noticed that one of them is also Mrs. McCluskey on Desperate Housewives?
