When Sasha Alexander left the series, she said her main reason for leaving "NCIS" was that she just couldn't handle the demands of working as a regular cast member on a hour-long drama. While I'm sure that's true to a large extent, I have to wonder if *part* of her reason for wanting out was that she didn't want to be the next Catherine Bell (of JAG); an attractive actress who was somewhat "trapped" in an under-the-radar show that got decent ratings but appealed to a mostly older audience and got very little "buzz" in the form of magazine articles and stuff.
However, "NCIS" is really on fire in the ratings this summer. If this keeps up, the new NCIS actress may not be so much "the next Catherine Bell" as "the next Jennifer Garner". . .and I wonder if maybe SA will end up regretting her decision to leave the show?
