What a slammin' season premiere!! Did anybody else here watch it? I really enjoyed it!
My two fave moments: the "double head slap" from Tony and Abby to McGee; and Gibbs holding Abby in the lab and promising to keep her safe. (This scene just strengthened my suspicions that she is either his ex-stepdaughter or his niece. He obviously cares a LOT about her, but it's totally non-sexual; more paternal.) I was also glad to see Gerald back; he's a much better morgue assistant than Mr. Palmer.
One thing that I thought was nice was the part where Abby told Gibbs "Kate might have been your agent but she was my friend". . .which was true, and is fairly unusual in these kinds of shows. Usually in crime dramas they either have one woman surrounded by a bunch of men (i.e. Scully on "The X-Files" or Lily on "Cold Case") or they have two women, but it's pretty clear they don't particularly like each other (i.e. Catherine and Sara on "CSI"). Abby and Kate, despite their differences, were obviously close friends. I can't see Abby developing that kind of relationship with either of the two new women they've introduced to the cast.
