Good points all. I think the FCC needs to say "these are the rules" once & for all. That way, any amount of complaints won't influence them if a rule hasn't been broken. Right now, it's arbitary if you get fined or not.

Our family view time was always together. I had a hand me down black & white TV in my room but I could barely get 4 channels on it so I rarely used it. My dad loved James Bond films & we used to watch them on ABC (seemed like they played one a month). Now they were edited for TV (I recall they even took out Bond electrocuting a baddie in water as someone might try to do that in real life). But still, I knew Bond killed people & slept with women. I never was of the mind to act like James Bond because I knew it wasn't real. My dad is big on pointing out in films what is not possible in electronics or mechanics, etc. (sometimes this gets annoying). My dad also took me to an R rated Mel Brooks film when I was still only 13 but even with the sexual humor, Brooks' work is pretty much a cartoon. Anyway, my dad was there with me & we have fun with it & I didn't become a maniac.

Nowadays, I could have cable TV in my room & see unedited violence & sex 24/7. Must be alot harder. When we have kids (fingers still crossed & science appointments made), I'll have to be on my toes. I must say my niece & nephews & friends' kids seem to grow up faster than I did. They know more about computers than I do at 6 years old!
