Subject: "Excuse me, can you tell me where the broccoli is?"

Uttered by Martin Short when I saw him in a supermarket last week talking to clerks in the produce section!

Also, a few days later:

Same supermarket as Martin Short--maybe I should just hang out there all day!
Jeffrey Tambour. I don't know how familiar you all are with him. He was Garry Shandling's sidekick on his old HBO show. But now he's known as George (and Oscar) Bluth on the uproariously funny Arrested Development.

I saw him in the store talking on his cell phone (So show biz, huh?) and heard him say "Oh...My... God" to someone in that well known voice. I didn't want to bother him on the phone but later when he was off and over in the produce section. (Yes there again, maybe Short told him about the brocolli ;-)) I decided I just had to talk to him. The show has struggled in the ratings and I wanted to let him know it had fans out there. I told him I just wanted to tell him how much I liked the show, my whole family watched it. I said we just wished more people would be watching it. He got a bit defensive and said, 'oh people are watching. There's a groundswell'. I agreed that it was doing better. I told him it was brilliant writing and acting. He said he appreciated it a lot and was really happy to hear I liked it and to please tell my friends and get the word out. (I think despite him wanting to believe it's gaining ground he also knows it still needs help!)

Anyway he was very nice and appreciative :-)
And everyone should watch Arrested Development! (Jeffrey told me to tell you that!)
