I nod a quick yes to those who want to follow in search of Donte` and bound off. I run to a small stream where I notice a young pup lying limp. My mind screaches to a hault. I race toward the wet mop of fur. I take hold of the loose fur around the neck, gently with my teeth before carefully placing the pup on the bank of the crick. I brace myself before peering down at the young face. DUKE! I watch for his young breathe, and see his chest move up and down, slowly, but surely! I allow a breif smile before taking Duke by the fur at trotting back to the Cabin.
Once inside the cabin I see Snow and race over to her, showing her with joy that Duke has managed to survive. "He'll definatly need some nourishment, but I think he'll make it!....Now if only we can find Donte' and Taffie!" I pause, thinking of where they mite be. A twinge of hope whirls around my heart. "I'll be rite back!" I yell as I make my way thru the door, anticipation dancing in my eyes like wild fire, on a cool summer night.
