Over the heat of the flames I see a black ball of fur over there. who is that?! I think to myself. DARKNESS! my mind shouts back at me. "SNOW BOUND!" i yell,"I THINK DARKNESS IS OVER THERE!" I can't be sure if she heard me or not over the crackling, after all, I can hardly see her. "LETS GO BACK, THE OTHERS..."I cough "THE OTHERS WILL HAVE TO MAKE IT ON THEIR OWN! THERE'S NO WAY WE CAN GET ALL OF THEM OVER THERE BY OURSELVES!" I cough a little more while I wait for an answer, any answer, just a voice to know that someone other than me is still alive over here.
All at once everything becomes black and my knees give out from under me. Good times of carefree play race thru my mind. Swimming in the lake together, tackling that herd of wolves. We've been thru a lot together, this can't stop us, I chant silently that we'll be OK, but unconscienceness comes over me...and there's no way I can know for sure anymore whose living and whose not...or even if I'm alive.
