Subject: Tim, that was a beautiful post. And I totally agree with it. If done well, this story has potential to really inform viewers. Pretty much everyone identifies w/Bud in some way.

Bud being wounded will open plots and sub-plots for all of the characters. All of Bud's family will be involved, Harriet, little AJ (all he has to do is ask what is wrong, Daddy? when Bud returns home), Mikey (now a midshipman), abd of course Big Bud. Harm and Mac can look and see what could have happened to either of them, and start realizing what could happen to the other (Though personally, I think Harm is going to want to protect the Marine's six). AJ, of course, for the idea of Bud going to another duty station. Singer seeing what can happen, or maybe taking Bud's place and having to work with PO Coates. Sturgis could easily be Bud's motivation. Bud has always been a good researcher, and since beconing a lawyer, a fine lawyer. Remember the show with the Marine DI, that had the heart transplant? the comment made about needing good marines like him, does not the Navy want to keep an officer as good as Bud?
