Subject: Favorite Childhood story

I read where Steve Perry's favorite book was Labyrinths Selected Stories and other Writings by Borges, Jorge Luis from I guess his high school years or later on. Being a librarian got to thinking: What was your favorite book from childhood?

My favorite book from childhood was "The Lonely Doll" by Dare Wright. A great old story about a doll who comes to life and stays with a family of teddy bears who take the lonely doll in when she has no one. The little bear finds the lonely doll near the trash.
